The uniqueness of the Shekou Sea World Culture and Arts Center lies in its emphasis on openness and connectivity. The building's facade features a delicate interplay of materials and textures, including glass, red facade, and black facade, creating a balanced yet interlaced rhythm and impression. This design choice allows the structure to seamlessly blend with its surroundings, while the lighting further enhances its soundless beauty.
Yenchin Wang and the design team at GD-Lighting Design have meticulously crafted a space that not only serves as a cultural hub but also as a work of art. The lighting design, hidden among spatial levels, interfaces, and constructs, creates a mesmerizing effect of landscape changing with every step. The overall facade lighting emphasizes artistic conception rather than depiction and outlining, perfectly complementing the architectural style of plainness and low profile.
One of the notable challenges faced during the project was the large area of white walls and glass, which maximizes natural light and transparency. The lighting design had to achieve top-notch neatness through simplicity and precise light matching and controlling technologies. The result is a space that maximizes the interaction between people's sight and the surrounding landscapes, including the sea and green mountains.
The Shekou Sea World Culture and Arts Center spans an impressive floor area of approximately 73,918 square meters. Its completion in December 2017 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, marked a significant milestone in the city's cultural landscape.
This exceptional design has garnered recognition and acclaim, including the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2018. This accolade is a testament to the center's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Shekou Sea World Culture and Arts Center exemplifies the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
Experience the breathtaking beauty and artistic vision of the Shekou Sea World Culture and Arts Center, where art, architecture, and innovation converge to create a truly remarkable cultural landmark.
